When it is time to change your lawn tractor tires most people have companies and suppliers change them out for them. However, anyone who owns any lawn care equipment should know how to change their own tires out. Just in case those places are closed whenever you need them.
To change and replace your lawn mower and tractor tires yourself you will need a screwdriver, valve stem tool, protective padding and some soapy water, preferably in a spray bottle. Once you have your supplies you can begin to jack up your piece of lawn care equipment.
After jacking up your equipment, remove the axle pins and deflate your lawn tractor’s tires. Most lawn care equipment will have a valve to easily and quickly deflate the tires. Sometimes the tire can stick to rims so you may need to use some leverage to get them apart.
The next step is to replace the protective pads on your lawn tractor tire set. Remove the tire irons and put them above the tire rims. Using about 3 tire irons will help you get the beads free from the wheel. After removing the bottom and top beads, you then want to use your soapy water to clean the tube thoroughly inside and out.
The final step is to put your new tractor tires on. Seat all of the beads, and install the stem. After inflating your new tires, you can mount the tire to complete the tire changing process. Having a friend or professional help out with your first installation will eliminate any chances of a mistake being made. Mistakes on tire replacement could be unsafe and could put you in danger.
